A lazy Susan is a turntable (rotating tray) placed on a table or countertop to aid in moving food. Lazy Susans may be made from a variety of materials but are usually glass, wood, or plastic. They are usually circular and placed in the center of a circular table to share dishes easily among the diners. Back in 2009, three years after my grandfather had died, I reunited with my family in Panama as we usually gathered on a round table to eat chinese food. Playing around I came across with the idea of placing the camera on top of the lazy Susan and just make it go round and round while shooting, without imaging that exactly three years later I was going to be doing the same camera game with an unknown part of my family, this time in China in the place where my dead grandfather was born.
